Legalization

Professional Assistance to Avoid Delays

start exploring

Since the UAE is not a signatory to the Hague Convention, documents certified with an apostille are not legally valid in the country and still require legalization.

The legalization process varies depending on the issuing country, the intended use of the document, and the document’s nature (whether it's personal or corporate).

Process of Legalization of Natural Persons' Foreign Documents

The process varies depending on the location of the individual’s original personal documents.

If the documents are located in the country of origin of the documents, the process is similar to the legalization process for corporate documents.

When the documents are located within the UAE:

01.

The originals of the relevant documents should be submitted to the consulate of the country of origin of the documents in the UAE.

02.

After certifying copies of the documents, the next step is to contact the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs to complete the legalization process.

03.

If the personal documents are not in English, the final step involves having the documents translated into English or Arabic by a certified translator after they have been certified by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
