Legalization of the UAE Documents

Due to the active economic interaction between the United Arab Emirates (“UAE“) and the international community, as well as the increased popularity of the process of business incorporation in the UAE, it seems appropriate to consider the UAE’s requirements for foreign documents to be used in the UAE and for Emirati documents to be used abroad. As the UAE hasn’t signed the Hague Convention 1961, consular legalization remains the primary procedure in this context. This alert highlights the key aspects of consular legalization, including general rules and procedures (as per the UAE regulations).
